Go Green With Guelph's Wellington Brewery

Supporting local is an easy way you can live more sustainably and knowing your craft beer was made with the environment in mind is even better!

Here are just a few ways Guelph's Wellington Brewery works every day to reduce their Carbon “Boot-Print”:

  • Mash is sent to local farms to feed to animals, and some is sent to Oreka Solutions—an insect farm in Cambridge, Ont. where the grain feeds bugs that are then turned into fish feed. It’s the circle of life!

  • They have replaced the traditional plastic 4 and 6-pack holders with biodegradable ones

  • Installed in 2015, ⁣Wellington's high-efficiency brewhouse allows them to produce twice as much beer in half the time, while reducing their environmental impact and helping to save malt and hops from entering the waste stream⁣

  • Wellington's Queen Of Craft Beer ran a Sustainability in Craft Beer Talk in 2018 looking at how the industry can reduce its carbon “boot-print”⁣

Founded in 1985, Wellington Brewery is Canada's oldest independently owned microbrewery and their commitment to the environment makes their award winning beer taste just a little better!
